Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (4 on 4 off)
Join a leading manufacturing site in Wolverhampton, where innovation meets excellence. The client has a high-performing team dedicated to delivering top-quality products and is now seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to maintain and optimize their operations.
Responsibilities
* Support all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacing machine parts.
* Rectify all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
* Enhance, repair, and maintain all Plant, Equipment, and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and update the maintenance log.
* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers.
* Involve in improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant.
* Maintain relationships with appropriate plant and services contractors/suppliers and arrange for them to undertake the engineering works required through breakdowns, maintenance, and project/enhancement work.
* Organise and maintain the technical database.
* Order spares/consumables required to support the engineering activities undertaken in-house or by a contracted company.
* Work closely with Production, Tool Change, and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome.
* Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes.
* Perform any other tasks as requested by Management.
* Meet targets such as the number of T Cards closed to target, scrap below set target, minimal machine downtime, and ensure planned maintenance and project work is completed on time and within budget.
Experience/Qualifications – Shift Engineer
* 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
* GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
* Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
* Able to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines.
* Understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working.
