Are you a Support Worker and looking to help us make a difference to young lives?
We are looking for a Youth Support Worker to join our passionate and supportive team in Malvern on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to achieve positive outcomes to young people aged 16–25-year-old including Care Leavers.
You will also provide a flexible, preventative and practical support service to promote independence and build resilience alongside delivering the accredited life skills programme. Having regular contact with customers with a range of emotional and challenging behaviours, you will be working on an individual and group basis to prevent homelessness, address personal support needs and provide access to training, education or employment.
Other duties include managing all communal areas of Platform Housing’s accommodation provided for young people through regular building management inspections, monitoring health and safety, repairs and testing equipment. You will monitor and manage customer’s tenancies, identifying any problems which may lead to breaches of tenancy or license, such as rent arrears, ensuring early and effective intervention.
This is a part-time role working 25.75 hours per week. You will need to be flexible to work a variety of shift patterns across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts will typically fall between 8:30am and 5:30pm or 5pm to 12pm. You will also be required for approximately 7 sleep-ins per month, for which you will receive a £55 per sleep-in payment on top of your salary.

* You will be resilient with the ability to handle challenging behaviours and conversations.
* Due to there being some lone working, you will have the ability to work independently and being an effective decision maker.
* An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
