Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) employs around 5700 staff made up of community nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, podiatrists, dental staff and many other health care professionals and corporate services. The Trust is one of the largest community health providers in England, serving a population of approximately 1.4 million people across Kent, East Sussex and parts of London Boroughs. This Trust has 33 sites included in the contract. About the role: The Facilities Manager (Hard FM) will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of hard facilities maintenance services provided to NHS trusts by Mears (both planned and reactive). This role is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of all hard facilities services across a varied portfolio of buildings. You will work in line with service specifications, KPIs, and performance management targets. The Facilities Manager will lead a skilled team of Multi-Skilled Operatives, Plumbers, and Electricians, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and maintenance. The Facilities Manager will also work closely with the client, attending site visits, addressing escalated issues, and attending regular contract and team meetings. You will thrive in a dynamic role where every day presents new challenges, working both collaboratively within a team and independently. This position is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who is willing to learn and develop, is not afraid to try something new, and is capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. The role will be designated to a specific area/sites within Kent and will be benchmarked for performance against other sites and fellow FMs. ·Monitor, evaluate, and control the performance of all internal labour and resources to provide effective and compliant delivery of the PPM, Reactive, and lifecycle services. ·Monitor, evaluate, and control the use of sub-contractors and suppliers in the effective and compliant delivery of the PPM, Reactive, and lifecycle services. ·Participate in the branch call-out rota as required. ·Ensure that all contractual and service-level requirements are achieved for relevant service offerings. ·Work closely with your planning assistant (based remotely) to ensure works are planned proactively and efficiently in your area. ·Ensure the health and safety of your sites/engineers is proactively managed, including van audits, toolbox talks, work-in-progress inspections, and completion inspections on a routine basis. ·Assist in the broader operational management of the service contract delivery, including covering for other managers and contributing to the planning and development of services within the branch. ·Organize, coordinate, and assist with the compiling and production of various reports, including monthly reports, lifecycle condition surveys, and other specific projects. ·Ensure you are proactive in identifying any issues on your sites before they become a reactive situation. ·Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions to ensure up-to-date business and job knowledge, communication, skills, and progression are maintained. This includes but is not limited to training, re-training, toolbox talks, 1:1s, probation reviews, etc. ·Provide specialist input as required across all FM contracts where appropriate, including assistance with bids/tenders when necessary. Role criteria: ·Demonstrable understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance. ·Ability to provide support to engineers on site and act as escalation when required. ·Good computer skills, including the use of Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft products. Able to pick up different IT systems effectively.
