PRODUCTION LINE COORDINATOR

PERMANENT WEEKEND NIGHTS – FRI TO SUN 6PM TO 6AM
£22.17 per hour
The Production Line Coordinator is expected to understand, commit to and support the Production Shift Manager in coordinating the daily tasks of the production department. The Production Line Coordinator manages the production process to ensure employee safety, product safety, product quality, hygiene levels, efficiency and compliance with environmental safety requirements.
Basic scope of daily duties:
Conducting a physical inspection of the line with the manager of the next production shift
• Document every near miss
• Document the loss of every tool from the board and every item missing from its place (5S standards) as well as every violation of GMP procedures and rules
• Discuss any identified deficiencies or non-compliances with your Shift Manager before the end of your shift
• Check to see that all items are complete before starting the next shift
Ensure your permanent presence in the production area
• Be visible in production area
• Provide instant support for all team members
• Consistently apply policies and procedures to all team members
Complete daily checklists
• Make sure you keep the required documentation (checklists) up to date
• Make sure the checklist is correctly and completely filled out (in each category)
• Verify the correctness of the checklists with your supervisor
• Sign the checklist at the end of your shift
• Review and reconcile completed tasks and actions taken during a production shift with your supervisor
Execute designated actions and projects - as needed
• Agree with your supervisor on the scope of activities, implementation timetable and the method of monitoring progress
• Get involved in assigned activities and projects
Schedule breaks for employees
• Control the timing of employees' scheduled breaks during a production shift
• Make sure that breaks are planned without compromising the safety, quality and efficiency of the process
• Consistently require adherence to the break time rules for all team members
• To provide Holiday / Absence cover for the Production Shift Manager.
Required skills and attitudes:
• Ability to supervise multiple areas of responsibility in parallel, including people and processes
• Ability to identify, correct and improve areas of employee and product safety
• Understanding of quality standards, adherence to those standards, and raising concerns when the process is not working properly
• Understanding, using and training team members in the field of measurement systems and tools
• Willingness to improve knowledge, skills in Emotional Intelligence (Emotional Quotient)
• Supporting internal training programs (in OJT: on-the-job training)
• Understanding of production processes and commitment to continuous improvement
• Strong MS Excel skills
• High communication skills assuming clear and precise expression, the ability to understand the statements of others, the listening skills:
o Showing respect to co-workers
o Present positive attitudes and be a role model for team members
Required experience:
• Minimum secondary education
• Knowledge of the specifics of the food industry
• Experience in a production company in the food industry
• Health condition that allows you to work in food production
