Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor Location: Oxford (Student Accommodation Project) Duration: Initially 5-6 months, with potential for long-term extension based on performance Pay rate: Dependant on experience Key Responsibilities: Manage the finishing programme for individual blocks and liaise daily with the main contractor. Attend daily briefings with the main contractor to ensure smooth project progress. Assist in ensuring the mechanical services are installed to a high standard, with some assistance in electrical works. Complete quality documentation, including sign-offs and ITPs, using a digital system on a tablet. Assist in managing health and safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Utilize Openspace camera to capture site progress weekly. Ensure that stores are maintained, and materials are readily available for contractors to progress their work. Required Skills & Experience: Previous experience in a Mechanical Supervisor role, ideally with experience on student accommodation or similar projects. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and some experience or willingness to assist with electrical systems. Ability to work collaboratively with other mechanical and electrical supervisors on-site. Experience with quality assurance and ensuring services are installed to high standards. Familiarity with health and safety practices and regulations, including conducting toolbox talks. Experience with using digital systems for managing quality documentation, including sign-offs and ITPs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and the main contractor. Requirements: Valid SMSTS/SSSTS card. Strong supervisory skills and experience in managing a team of operatives. Ability to manage project schedules and oversee the finishing programme for mechanical installations. A proactive approach to ensuring materials are available and the project progresses smoothly. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to handle site issues effectively.
