Job Description
* Oversee EMEA Tax compliance in line with any recent updates or changes providing training or guidance where necessary across the business and Global Support as required
* Own the timely submission and agreement of EMEA Corporation Tax returns ensuring our tax affairs are wholly compliant
* Own key deliverables for individual Statutory Accounts tax reporting and support Group Tax reporting
* Provide support for various tax projects such as acquisitions, disposals and corporate restructuring
* Support colleagues by providing tax advice to businesses in relation to any questions they have arising from day to day trading or business projects covering Corporation tax and other taxes
* Continually look for improvements in the way the SSC Tax function operates
* Detailed risk analysis and reporting to facilitate the Senior Accounting Officer declaration
* Communicate and ensure your department complies with its overall delivery and quality performance metrics including our Group Tax strategy
* Analysis of reported performance metrics against requirements of the business
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with key Business Partners to build broader strategic planning
* Oversee and assist in the provision of information requested by Group functions.
* Oversee completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations in line with timetable.
Team workload oversight
I. Work collaboratively with other areas of Tax & Financial Accounting to ensure that work across the department is planned and prioritised appropriately.
II. Oversee, motivate and manage the team to ensure performance metrics are hit
III. Provides coaching on both soft and technical skills within the team
IV. Participate in Recruitment & Selection processes
V. Act as a role model to others
VI. Team admin duties such as absence management, holiday authorisations, appraisals etc
Qualifications
* Strong academic background
* Recognised tax/accounting qualification (eg. CTA) with 6 years Tax accounting experience preferable
* Knowledge of working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
* Excellent leadership, coaching and people development
