Polbeth Nursery is situated within the village of Polbeth and serves the local area. The Nursery consists of AM, PM, and full-day learners, with an additional capacity for ten two-year-old learners. The building provides spacious learning areas and features a large outdoor and garden area. Polbeth Nursery falls under the management of St Mary's Primary School, which is situated in a separate building but within the same grounds. The setting is open 50 weeks per year, and staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours.
Polbeth Nursery School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated part-time ELC Practitioner to join our Nursery team. The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and responding to the individual needs of each child, providing high-quality interactions and learning experiences.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulates that you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
