Mental Health Assistant
A fantastic opportunity has recently popped up for a mental health assistant to join a supportive team in a specialist school in Oxford.
The students in this setting have all been identified as struggling with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). They are between the ages of 4 and 11 and have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences. These experiences have led them to have mental health struggles, which contributes to nervous system dysregulation. This lovely school is looking for people to come in and support their students in processing their thoughts and feelings and regulating their emotions.
The class teacher has specialized interventions designed to meet the needs of the children and meet them where they are. The interventions are in place to build upon their skills, promote their independence, and enhance their overall mental health and wellbeing.
This mental health school is based in Oxford and offers their students the best help they can, but they are looking to add someone to their team who can facilitate a high level of care and compassion for their students.
Individuals who would do really well in a role like this would have the following qualities:
* Compassionate
* Patient
* Have a good understanding of the importance of safeguarding
* Have a positive attitude
This is a great route for people who are looking to embark on a career that joins together mental health, psychology, and education. Psychology graduates, criminology graduates, and those with backgrounds in art, music, or sport are especially encouraged to apply.
