Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team at Heysham Power Station for our EDF contract on an 11-month Fixed-Term Contract. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
To carry out Installation & maintenance routines unsupervised, diagnose and repair faults on electrical building services, electrical switch gear, domestic and industrial installations, and PAT testing.
Technical Competence:
Formal and recognised apprenticeship served in relevant skill area and have minimum of 4 years relevant and practical experience within building services
Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
Able to service and fault find on both conventional and Bespoke installations.
Ability to follow work instructions, read/ interpret technical diagrams and report technical information as required
Electrical Installation both domestic and industrial
Electrical fault finding & rectification skills
Industry Qualifications:
Electrical City & Guilds NVQ Level III or an ONC is a minimum requirement (Mandatory)
JIB Accredited electrician (Desirable)
C&G 18th Edition (Desirable)
C&G Electrical Installation (Desirable)
C&G Testing and commissioning (Desirable)

Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements.

Operational Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations
Provide out of hours cover where required
Complete relevant paperwork
Compliant with all safety related policies and procedures
Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
Appropriate risk assessments undertaken on all work.
Rectifies problems where appropriate (ensuring that the correct procedures are followed)
All paperwork completed (permits, reports and work order cards) is accurate and submitted within set time scales.
Teamwork
Establish good working relationships with other team members, provide guidance to others (e.g., apprentices)
Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives
Delivers/Contributes to pre-job briefs, exchanging ideas and putting forward suggestions to improve team performance.
Positive feedback from other team members.
Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner. Interacting positively with the client and their representatives, proactively sharing information with others.
