Role Description
Befriender Volunteers for our Day Service
Location: Seaford
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week
The Bradbury Centre is a lovely day service based in Seaford. This day service allows the people we support to take part in different activities such as cooking and arts & crafts. It also helps them to develop IT skills and gets them socialising. We are looking for volunteers to join in and help the people we support get the most out of the activities that take place at the day service, whether it's cooking together, getting creative or just having a nice chat! Skills required
1. To have a good sense of humour, love to chat and be a good listener
2. To be kind, empathetic, creative and enjoy cooking
3. To be punctual and reliable
4. To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
5. To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation
Please note that you will need to be over the age of 18 in order to apply for this role. To apply for this role, please click on the 'apply' button below and complete the application form. Upon receipt of your application, a member of our friendly Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain about the next steps. To ensure the safety of the people we support, we require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role. About Us
