Responsibilities
* Read travellers blueprints and/or follow instructions to ascertain the setup and materials required.
* Set up and operate Grade 3 machines: Fladder, Small Shear, Power Notcher, Hand tools, Multi-cells.
* Check incoming and outgoing material for quality and quantity. Prepare necessary documentation as required.
* Monitor and verify that the quality and quantity of work performed meets Bobrick standards.
* Maintain the production process in a capable and aligned state.
* Advise and coordinate with other functions or supervision when there is a shortage of materials, machine breakdowns, and quality defects.
* Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, and materials positioned correctly and following safe operating procedures.
* Conduct daily pre-start on equipment before the start of the shift.
* Report any unsafe conditions/hazards to the department supervisor immediately.
* Participate and produce new methods improvements continually.
* Work under the guidance of the SBF when applicable.
* Participate in and support projects, charter teams, and events to meet the company's stated goals and budget.
* Maintain equipment in good functional order.
* Report any problems in business or equipment to department lead person and/or supervisor.
* Use all protecting devices with guards properly set and in good repair.
* Assist the lead person in training lower-grade employees in setup, machine operation, and safe working procedures including personal safeguards.
* Assist higher-grade operators in Tandem operations and operate other fabrication machines as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned, including helping with tandem operations.
