About Us: We’re a small yet luxury cruise company operating three vessels cruising around the Scottish coast. We’re a high-value, low-volume business, with holidays costing around £10,000 each. We have a high proportion of repeat business and we’re looking to expand our customer base to attract new potential customers. Role Overview: We’re seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join our team. This role will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote our cruises, grow our customer base and support our sales team. With the support of an in-house Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant, the Marketing Manager will continue to build upon our successful traditional direct marketing activity as well as expanding and accelerating our digital and email marketing activity for customer acquisition, conversion and retention. Key Responsibilities: 1. Marketing Strategy Development: o Create a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with our business goals, incorporating CRM, leverage customer data to personalise marketing efforts and maximize customer retention. o Develop targeted campaigns for different customer segments, emphasising the unique value of our cruises and itineraries. o Build strong partnerships and brand awareness with strategically selected businesses, partners and/or brands. o Budget setting and management - plan and implement an annual budget working with the FD aligned to marketing goals and objectives. 2. Direct Mail Campaigns: o Orchestrate and coordinate a compelling direct mailing plan for each ship and sales promotion. These should highlight the luxury experience of our cruises and encourage bookings with a clear CTA. o Utilise CRM tools to track the effectiveness of direct mail campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly. o GDPR and data management ownership to ensure that only valid data is being collected and used. 3. Digital Marketing: o Oversee our digital marketing strategy, website projects, digital marketing agency and website developer relationship management. o Optimise our website for SEO to improve organic search visibility. Monitor keyword rankings, analyse website traffic, and implement SEO best practices. o Explore content marketing opportunities, such as blog posts, videos, and social media content, to engage our audience and drive traffic to our website. o Segment email lists based on customer preferences and behaviour. Craft personalised email campaigns with clear CTA. 4. Social Media Management: o Establish a long term strategy for social media, how to collect content, influencer activity and channels to engage in paid media. o Generate engaging social media content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.). Highlight the unique experiences our cruises offer. o Plan and manage paid social media (in-house) delivering key deliverables including lead generation, bookings and enquiries. o Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategies based on performance data. 5. Sales Support: o Work closely with our Sales team, providing them with the necessary support. o Attend trade shows as / when required to network, understand more about our customer base, market sector and promote our cruises. o Collaborate with Sales to ensure consistent messaging across all channels and campaigns to drive cabin sales and brand awareness. About you: The ideal candidate will have the following attributes: • A recognised marketing qualification and a minimum of 5 years in a marketing role. • A background in consumer marketing, preferably within the luxury travel, cruise or hospitality industry. • Comfortable working in a small, closely-knit, long standing team environment. • Strong expertise in CRM, content marketing, SEO and CMS. • Motivated, creative and strategic thinker with a passion for travel, especially cruising.
