Job Title: Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Guildford (Hybrid – Required to attend the office a few times per month in line with business needs)

About the Role:
As a Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in driving business decisions through financial expertise. You will be influential in shaping strategy and implementing initiatives, collaborating with varied stakeholders, and ensuring we’re consistently delivering on our business goals.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead financial ownership of bid opportunities and contribute to business success across key areas of pricing, bid submission, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the financial ownership of assigned bid opportunities throughout the bid lifecycle to submission.
2. Identify cost levers and understand the drivers behind gross margins and pricing strategies, ensuring we’re set up for success.
3. Influence our bid strategy by developing a deep understanding of competitors and positioning our bids to win.
4. Collaborate effectively with colleagues in finance to ensure target margins align with business objectives.
5. Drive process improvements within the bid and project management processes.
6. Present complex financial information clearly and concisely to key stakeholders.
7. Support and develop colleagues in business-winning skills to maintain best practices.
8. Ensure the business adheres to effective governance processes.
9. Provide timely, actionable insights into management information and assist in decision-making.
10. Understand and manage overheads and cost recovery methods to drive net profitability.
Your Skills and Experience:
1. Qualified Accountant with substantial post-qualification experience.
2. Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of pricing strategies and cost recovery models.
3. Experience in driving cost savings and margin improvements.
4. Leadership and influencing skills with the ability to work across functions and at all levels of seniority.
5. Experience with UK Government bidding (desirable but not essential).
6. Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
7. Ability to navigate working across cultures and time zones.
8. Understanding of key performance indicators and their role in decision-making.
