Year 6 Teacher (Maternity Cover) Contract Type: 12-month maternity cover Location: Preston Start Date: After Easter Reed/LTA are seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teacher for a 12-month maternity cover position, starting after Easter. This role is based in a charming rural primary school in Preston, ideal for someone who has experience in Key Stage 2 and is passionate about contributing to the educational journey of children at this crucial stage of their development. Day-to-day of the role: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet the curriculum standards. Assess and record students’ progress, preparing them for Key Stage 2 SATs. Foster a positive learning environment in the classroom, addressing varied learning needs and styles. Work collaboratively with other staff members to enhance the teaching practice and educational outcomes for students. Engage with parents and guardians to support student progress, including parent-teacher meetings and written reports. Participate in school events and activities, contributing to the school community and its rural ethos. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6. Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment framework. Proven ability to create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, staff, and parents.
