The Opportunity
Radar Healthcare's new Purchase Ledger
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger apprentice to join our Finance team at Radar Healthcare. By supporting in the management of the company's purchase ledger operations, you will gain practical experience and knowledge of financial processes within the health-tech sector.
This exciting apprenticeship role involves assisting with invoice processing, payment management, and financial record-keeping, whilst developing skills in financial software, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.
What you’ll be doing to make a difference:
Invoice and Expense processing:
* Receiving, verifying, and coding supplier invoices.
* Managing the employee expenses process from start to finish.
* Entering invoice data accurately into the financial system.
* Matching invoices with purchase orders and goods received notes.
Payment management:
* Preparation of payment runs.
* Scheduling and processing supplier payments.
* Maintaining accurate records of payments made and outstanding.
Supplier account maintenance:
* Reconciling supplier statements with internal records.
* Resolving discrepancies and queries with suppliers.
* Maintaining up-to-date supplier information.
* New vendor verification.
Financial record-keeping:
* Maintenance of the purchase ledger system.
* Filing and organising financial documents.
* Preparing reports on accounts payable status and aging.
Banking:
* Data entry for bank transactions.
* Bank reconciliation.
* Payment run management.
Payroll:
* Processing payroll in accordance with third party instructions.
Data analysis and reporting:
* Compiling data for purchase ledger reports.
* Analysing spending patterns and supplier performance.
* Preparing financial summaries for management review.
Compliance:
* Assisting in ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
* Helping maintain records for audit purposes.
* Supporting the team in staying updated on relevant financial regulations.
Process improvement:
* Identifying and suggesting improvements to purchase ledger processes.
Stakeholder communication:
* Responding to supplier inquiries.
* Preparing information for internal stakeholders.
Learning and development:
* Actively participating in apprenticeship training programs.
* Completing assigned coursework and assessments.
* Applying learned concepts to practical work situations.
Team support:
* Assisting other finance team members as required.
* Contributing to maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
What you bring to the table...
Experience:
* Ability to work with numbers and perform simple calculations accurately.
* Familiarity with basic office software, particularly spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel.
* Basic understanding of financial concepts: Knowledge of terms like invoices, purchase orders, and credit notes would be helpful.
* Interest in finance and/or the health tech sector: Demonstrating enthusiasm for the field.
Skills:
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and suppliers.
* Capacity to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.
* Eagerness to learn.
* Time management: Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
* Problem-solving skills: Capacity to identify and resolve simple discrepancies.
* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a finance team environment.
Even better if you…
* Have experience using Sage Intacct.
* Are working towards your AAT level 2.

Enhanced family leave - Primary caregivers (maternity/adoption); 16 weeks full pay, 10 weeks half pay & secondary caregivers (paternity); 2 weeks full pay and another 2 weeks full pay to take in your new arrivals first year of life (once you have been with us for 1 year).
Pension - We’re invested in your future, we contribute 3% of your salary to your pension pot, helping you save up for those golden years!
Technology – Rest assured, we'll have a laptop all set up and ready for you on your first day. Additionally, in your first week, we’ll conduct a WFH risk assessment to ensure you have everything you need, including a second screen, keyboard, mouse, and any other goodies!
Dog friendly office.
Socials – we get together as a full company at least four times per year, plus at least once a quarter in individual teams, too. Not including all the fun activities being planned by our newly formed social committee.
