Purpose
The document controller will seek to effectively maintain and control the incoming and exporting of all project documentation in the form of drawings and their registers, comments, manuals, class appraisals and all other project specific documents. The role will be responsible for the management of the client shared data environment, with full accountability for the effective implementation and improvement of document control processes and procedures for the duration of the project, and the archiving of all documentation upon completion.

Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of all project specific registers.
2. Recording of all incoming and outgoing documents via transmittal.
3. Uploading and downloading of all necessary information to the shared data environment.
4. Preparation of drawings and packs in hard copy.
5. Other duties commensurate to the position – filing, administration etc.
6. Liaison with various company and client personnel.
7. Must assess customer requirements and ensure these are met.
8. Review of document processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
9. Management of own performance through a structured and effective approach.
10. Must form collaborative working relations with respective stakeholders including employees, managers, and the client.
11. Must follow health and safety rules, procedures, safe working practices to ensure own safety and that of colleagues.
12. Must behave in a professional manner in all contacts with Company personnel, clients, inspectors, supervisors, and management to maintain the excellent reputation of the Company.
13. Must be able to work as part of a team or with autonomy, with consideration of diversity.
14. Must demonstrate knowledge, competency, and operate within Company's Quality Management System.
Qualifications/Skills
The document controller will be highly experienced in a similar role with a proven track record of document control, preferably on large scale engineering projects within a heavy manufacturing environment.
Essential
1. Educated to A Level or equivalent standard
2. Significant experience in a similar role demonstrating the use of shared data environments.
3. A driven and motivated individual; with experience of working to deadlines, and under pressure in a busy office environment.
4. A strong communicator and be IT literate in MS packages to a high level.
