We are a global company headquartered in New York, with offices in Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.**Platform Operations Engineer****Purpose of the role:**The purpose of this role is to design and deliver best in class server, storage and trading platforms for Pico’s clients and our internal infrastructure in line with Pico’s standards and strategic framework. Playing a key role in working with our Account Management, Project Management and Client Service Delivery teams on tier one banks and other key client’s requirements, the role holder will be a proactive, solutions-oriented Engineer with highly developed organization and attention to detail skills. The role holder will also be responsible for working with our Service Operations (NOC) Team to ensure that all escalations are dealt with in a timely and effective manner, transferring knowledge and building skills among Service Operations Team.**Responsibilities and duties** *(include but not limited to)** Design, deployment, and escalated problem resolution, for global client server solutions* Work with internal/external clients, operations, financial exchanges, and other Engineers to design, automate, research and develop, investigate and solve system issues, and participate in business analysis.* Ensure stability of all Pico managed platforms* Construct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical concepts* Support deployment and maintenance of servers, storage and systems management products* Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes* Perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deployment* Perform production changes in a diligent and professional manner* Participate in an on-call rotation for support escalations* Participate in daily meetings to review changes and underlying impacts* Communicate effectively with clients and other Pico teams to nurture the lifecycle of projects* Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when required**Education, Skills and background** *(incl. Education and Experience Requirements)** Minimum of 3 years of experience working on large scale bare metal solutions in a service provider or a large enterprise environment* Minimum of 2 years of experience with HP, Dell and/or Lenovo Intel-based physical hardware* RHCE certified or equivalent level of knowledge* Advanced understanding and deployment experience in the following technologies: + Linux/Unix+ Bash and Python scripting+ Network services (DNS, DHCP, FTP)+ IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP)+ Ansible or similar configuration management tools+ SAN and NAS storage solutions+ RAID and volume management+ VMWare and KVM virtualization+ Familiarity with WAN/LAN networking concepts+ Familiarity with relational database technologies+ Understanding of JIRA as a ticketing system * Diligent and highly detail orientated* Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve issues in a highly charged financial environment* Clear verbal and written communicator* Capable of prioritizing and managing a high workload* Driven self-starter and self-motivation are key* Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop* Interested in cutting edge technology* Driven to develop own skills and knowledge* Experience working with trading infrastructure would be advantageous**Working Arrangements**The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions / geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).
