About the role Telford College are recruiting for a part time Maths Lecturer within our English and Maths department. You will be delivering outstanding GCSE and Functional Skills Maths provision to a wide range of learners, through an exceptional student experience leading to positive achievement outcomes. Key Responsibilities Deliver excellent GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths teaching to both adults and 16-19 year old learners. Contribute to the Maths department/team through an enthusiastic, dedicated and pro-active approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience. Through a well-organised manner regularly review and monitor learner’s attendance, targets and progress and follow up as required to ensure learners achieve their potential. Evaluate and assess (formative and summative) the work of learners in relation to the curriculum criteria and provide timely constructive and helpful learner feedback. Maintain quality systems related to the teaching of GCSE Maths and Functional Skills including designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and assessment activities. Develop quality and innovative resources (including e-resources) which support the development of GCSE / Functional skills teaching, learning and assessment. Skills, knowledge and expertise Qualifications and training Level 2 qualification (GCSE A – C, or equivalent) in Maths and English Possess an appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject Possess a teaching qualification, e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLs, or a firm commitment to achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (desirable) Skills and expertise Relevant teaching experience in GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths Possess a proven record of innovative, engaging and learner centred teaching, learning and assessment practice, which enables all learners to progress Good communication & interpersonal skills at individual and group level Ability to work as a team member contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies An understanding of and commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity Knowledge, commitment and understanding of their responsibilities relating safeguarding, Prevent, diversity and equality of opportunities and health and safety relevant to the post How to Apply We look forward to receiving your application and knowing more about your qualifications, skills, personal qualities and experience that you would bring to the role and to Telford College.
