Redbridge Music Service has delivered high-quality music education to the children and young people of Redbridge since 1965 and has a reputation for excellence. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Business Manager to join the team to support our day-to-day operations. The role will require leading our non-teaching staff, and overseeing communication with schools, teachers and customers all wishing to use our service. You will closely manage billing, payroll and financial matters, liaise with Vision’s corporate finance and HR teams and support the Head of Service with budget monitoring and a wide range of administrative duties.
Based at the John Savage Centre, Hainault, you will be surrounded by musical activity and instruments of all kinds. The centre delivers tuition in 48 Redbridge schools and recently offered tuition to adults and has classes for babies and toddlers. Our students perform in over 50 concerts per year, both in the local community and at renowned venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, with collaborations with our colleagues at the Redbridge Drama Centre, providing our students with additional performance opportunities.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a vibrant Music Service. You will be instrumental in shaping the operational framework that supports our educational and artistic endeavours, ensuring that we continue to inspire and nurture the next generation of musicians.
Job requirements:
Be responsible for managing the non-teaching team and functions which support the Music Service.
Lead a team providing the Customer Services function to schools and families.
Support the Head of Service/Head of Teaching and Learning in HR & payroll matters.
Oversee the management of the premises on a day-to-day basis.
Support the Head of Music with budget monitoring and administration tasks
Ensure timely and accurate billing to customers, along with debtor monitoring.
Essential requirements:
Possession of a business or project management -related qualification i.e. Business administration diploma / Prince or demonstrable level of experience and competence
Experience in budget management
Substantial experience in managing processes and procedures
Able to use innovative and practical solutions in business management
