Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a Primary School in North Tyneside. The role will primarily involve supporting students in Years 7 and 8, with a focus on pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Given the school's high proportion of pupils with SEND, an understanding of EHCPs and the ability to support vulnerable individuals is essential. There is also a prevalence of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within the school, so knowledge in this area would be highly beneficial.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30 and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
* Have a background working in education or relevant experience.
* Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
* Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
* Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
* Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
