Job summary The Dove River Practice in Tutbury, is looking to add a new receptionist to the team. You will be working within our friendly GP Practice undertaking both admin duties and telephone calls supported by the team. We are looking for a team player dedicated to providing the best service for our patients. The successful candidate will require excellent customer service & organisational skills. You will need a friendly personality and have the ability to multi task in a busy environment dealing with patients and other members of the primary care team which supports the health needs of the local population. Full training will be given but experience would be desirable. Hours will be worked over 5 days, between the hours of 07:45 - 18:00. However, you will need to be available between the hours of 07:45 and 18:00 Monday - Friday for annual leave cover. Interviews are planned to take place week commencing 11/11/2024. Main duties of the job To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to; greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, referring patients, scanning and processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. You need to have good communication skills and customer service experience is essential. The surgery can be very busy during parts of the day, dealing with the public both face to face and telephone calls from patients, as well as practice team staff queries, so you will need to be able to prioritise and be flexible in dealing with the work load. Team work is essential as everyone has a part to play in making the running of the Practice as smooth and productive as possible. The ability to keep calm when sometimes dealing with the public in difficult situations will be an expected part of this position.
