We are currently seeking a dynamic Primary Care Practice Manager to work at a national level, to support the delivery of the Practice Manager and non-clinical workforce development action within the Strategic Workforce plan for Primary Care.
The programme of work will involve scoping, planning and implementing the non-clinical workforce development action assigned to the Multi-Professional Primary and Community Care Education & Training Unit, HEIW. This includes initiating the building of a collection of development opportunities for non-clinical management and administrative roles across primary care settings, including a menu of learning interventions and extending opportunities (formal and informal) to meet specific needs, including options for accredited training and development.
This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders through the adoption of a workforce transformation approach to develop and implement solutions aimed at addressing current and predicted future workforce challenges, such as recruitment, retention, training, and performance management.
NHS staff will be offered the appointment as a secondment. If you wish to apply as a secondment opportunity, you must have your line manager’s approval. This post may be extended or made permanent at the end of the secondment/fixed term period depending on available funding and business needs.
We are looking for a candidate who has successfully managed a primary care contractor practice with experience of transformational change. You will have excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the implementation of the non-clinical workforce development action as part of the Strategic Workforce Plan for Primary Care Wales.
2. Translate the strategic actions into goals and initiatives to ensure sustainable implementation and delivery across the healthcare system.
3. Establish relationships and work strategically with Welsh Government, Health Boards/Trusts, and other national organisations to develop the process for implementing the action.
