We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturer with an excellent reputation based in Blackwood.

Reporting directly to the Projects and Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting all site Engineering and Maintenance requirements, ensuring efficient production through maintenance of assets, assured technical capabilities, and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

Electrical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate a high level of expertise in relation to planned and reactive maintenance.
2. Complete required documentation and service reports as required.
3. Work with the Senior Engineer to implement a strategy that ensures the Engineering function is effective, cost-optimised, well-motivated, flexible, and continually adapts to changing circumstances.
4. Use work methods and practices that comply with legislative, moral, and European directive requirements.
5. Ensure input of data on availability of systems to support the Senior Engineer in effectively managing inventory, minimising working capital, and controlling purchasing.
6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation and always adapt safe working practices.
7. Provide technical advice for problem-solving and innovative solutions.
8. Order and negotiate the price of materials.
9. Work in partnership with the Senior Engineer to ensure that the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the needs of the business.
10. Follow the set standards and procedures that govern all engineering activities on site, including all aspects of new asset realisation, safe working practices, and management of contractors.
11. Ensure that a culture of safety is promoted, working in partnership with the site Health, Safety and Environmental QA Manager.
Electrical Maintenance Technician Essential Skills & Experience:
1. BTEC Level 3 qualification is essential; HNC or HND qualification in an Engineering discipline.
2. Good knowledge of technical Health & Safety requirements, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH.
3. Experience within a similar role and within a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
4. Experience fault-finding on PLC/Invertors.
5. Ability to read and follow electrical/Pneumatic diagrams.
