An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Laboratory Medicine – Blood Sciences Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Partnership, for a Full Time Permanent AfC Band 2 Biomedical Science Assistant. At SYB Pathology, we recognise that gaining NHS Laboratory experience is a much-coveted asset for aspiring Biomedical Scientists to add to their CVs. This is a prime opportunity to gain this experience. Successful candidates will be deployed in The Blood Sciences Department at The Barnsley Hospital Site. Please note, this role will predominantly involve working 37.5 hours over a 24/7 Service. There will be a requirement to work Nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays. As a Healthcare Science Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of the diagnostic NHS laboratory by performing many of the pre-analytical procedures on pathological samples. This includes tasks such as data input, retrieval, issuing reports, and other general laboratory duties. Attention to detail is paramount as you ensure the accuracy of results and maintain the integrity of samples.
