My client, a global industry leading manufacturer in Ely, is looking for an ESG Lead (Environment, Social and Governance) to support in driving and implementing the ESG framework across all European entities. This is a new role to the company and will be responsible for project managing the development of internal processes and practices that align with the ESG initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of the ESG Lead:
1. Drive and support the development and execution of the ESG strategies across Europe, in alignment with global corporate strategy and goals.
2. Project manage the implementation of the ESG framework across all European entities, including close collaboration with teams and stakeholders at EU and global level, as well as support the development of policies, processes, and best practices within the ESG framework.
3. Lead on data management processes which includes collection, quality control, evaluation, audit, and disclosure. Develop and deliver external ESG reports within required reporting scopes, as well as internal reports, presentations, and dashboards for various stakeholders.
4. Manage ESG technology tools and leverage EPR systems to identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes, enhance efficiency, and improve effectiveness.
5. Identify opportunities and propose recommendations for innovation, initiatives, and improvements in environmental performance, social responsibilities, and governance practices.
6. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at EU and global level to promote transparency and address risks and opportunities.
7. Support regional ESG initiatives and other related projects, ensuring targets are achieved and managed.
8. Support the performance and development of local ESG teams across Europe providing guidance, including training sessions and knowledge sharing as required.
9. Promote a culture of sustainability across EU entities and globally, encouraging active engagement from all.
What you will need to succeed as the ESG Lead:
1. 5+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, project management roles, or a similar field.
2. Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or other related fields.
3. German speaking is advantageous but not essential.
4. Strong project management skills across multiple entities and stakeholder groups.
5. Experience & knowledge in ESG reporting software, EPR systems, and data analysis tools is desirable.
6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
7. Highly organized and able to work on multi-entity level initiatives.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
9. Strong leadership skills in terms of project management and collaboration.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm. Hybrid working available following completion of training which will be 2 days working from home and 3 days office based. The ideal candidate will need to have a willingness to travel to EU countries (10%).
