We’re looking for a Forensic Laboratory Technician to efficiently and effectively run our Digital Forensics laboratory.

The Role
To assist in ensuring an efficient and effective running of the Digital Forensics laboratory by receipting and dispatching exhibits, completing case management records, maintaining equipment & assets and adhering to lab procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Exhibit receipt and dispatch
2. Archiving of completed case investigation data
3. Stock control, tracking and resourcing
4. Provide cover for logistics and courier services
5. Assist with the quality assurance procedure for operational casework
6. Sustaining an effective and efficient working environment
7. Weekly preparation/maintenance of the laboratory environment
8. Maintenance, testing and calibration of a wide range of digital forensic equipment
9. Participate in external audits from certification and accreditation bodies
10. Contribute to achieving and maintaining quality standards whilst ensuring that the company’s quality procedures ISO 17025 and 9001 are robustly adhered to.
11. Ensuring that the company’s IT security procedures ISO 27001 are robustly adhered to
12. Undertake ad hoc tasks as requested
13. Level 3 qualification(s) or higher
14. Excellent attention to detail, administration and time management skills
15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
16. Ability to work as a team as well as autonomously
17. Previous experience working in an ISO accredited laboratory
18. Familiarity working within quality management systems
19. Knowledge of relevant legal powers/procedures/acts (CPIA, PACE and Human Rights Act etc.)
