Purchasing Manager - Structural Steel

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

A well-established and respected structural steel company is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team based in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded individual to play a key role in the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services across a variety of steelwork projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full purchasing process for structural steel, consumables, and subcontracted services.
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure the best value, quality, and delivery performance.
* Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to drive cost savings without compromising project deadlines or standards.
* Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material requirements and manage stock levels.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and project specifications.
* Continuously review and improve procurement strategies, systems, and procedures.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a purchasing role within the structural steel industry is essential.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Excellent understanding of materials and components used in steel fabrication and erection.
* Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems is advantageous.
