THE COMPANY Our client, a well-established business based in Cannock, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. THE ROLE This position is within a reputable accountancy practice in Cannock, where you will receive training and support to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit-exempt limited companies within a diverse client portfolio. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparing income and corporation tax computations. • Undertaking bookkeeping duties and producing VAT returns. • Preparing cash flow forecasts and financial projections. • Engaging with clients face-to-face, providing expert support and advice. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of two years’ experience in a practice environment, possess strong accounting skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Sage as well as standard software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. A sound understanding of income and corporation tax is essential. We are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service. You should be a strong communicator, confident in interacting with clients at all levels, both in person and in writing. You will also be encouraged to contribute to the growth and success of the firm. For the right candidate, support will be provided towards professional development, including progression towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications. REQUIREMENTS • Experience in an accountancy practice (or a strong desire to work in this environment). • Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills. • Proficiency in Sage and recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • A proactive and team-oriented mindset, eager to contribute to the firm’s success. • A passion for delivering exceptional client service.
