About the Role Responsible for the management of the University of Oxford capital programme of approximately £2B over ten years, Estates Services Capital Projects has an exciting opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic professional who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role as a Capital Projects Development Manager. The post holder will hold responsibility for the delivery of a specific portfolio of projects for the Medical Sciences Division (MSD), the portfolio is large and diverse, with a value in excess of £250m presently on going, and projects spanning simple office refurbishments and complex and technically advanced new research and teaching facilities. Accountable to senior University Officers the principal responsibility will be to lead on the management, monitoring and coordination of the MSD capital project programme, coordinating elements of the programme as well as project and design teams. The post holder will ensure the efficient, timely and correct delivery of projects, which meet the business needs and requirements of the division and stakeholders, and in accordance with relative legislation and University governance. Additional responsibilities will include acting as Client Representative and/or Project Manager for one or more elements of the MSD capital projects portfolio, specifically those pertaining to brief definition and project early incubation stages, or post completion during closure stages, as well as the delivery of Estates Services Capital Projects initiatives. Essential Criteria include: Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. Professional qualification in construction or business management. Membership of a relevant professional body. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience in preparing committee papers and reports. Desirable Criteria: Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2). Experience within the Higher Education or NHS sector. Line management and team leadership experience.
