The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Planning Manager. Forming a key part of our Management team, t he role is responsible for ensuring our vehicles and drivers are utilised effectively throughout the day and that our high standards of safety and customer service are withheld. T ravel to company and customer sites throughout Scotland and being on call also form part of the role. About Us: Galt Transport have been providing general haulage services throughout the UK & Europe for over 75 years. Still run by the same family, we specialise in Hiab crane hire, abnormal loads, container handling, ADR and all STGO categories. With four depots across central Scotland we employ around 50 staff and have a fleet of 50 vehicles and 100 trailers. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and timely deliveries using our own fleet and sub-contractors where required Build strong relationships with customers on a day-to-day basis. Respond to enquiries, provide advice and guidance regarding jobs and ensure we are meeting customer needs. Manage and maintain compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including operator license requirements Lead and motivate a team of drivers and logistics staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and safety Ensure drivers are fully compliant with regards to driver hours, health and safety, vehicle road worthiness, CPC training and tachograph management Deal with any disciplinary issues that may arise Requirements: A valid Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is preferred Proven experience in transport management, preferably within the haulage industry A strong understanding of transport regulations and compliance (e.g. Driver CPC, tachograph rules) Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities H&S experience and/or qualifications an advantage Commercially astute with a good understanding of the haulage industry What We Offer: A competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development 28 days holiday entitlement Company pension Sick pay scheme
