ESPA College, South Hill caters for autistic young people between the ages of 16-25, who are working towards qualifications from Pre-Entry Level, to Level 2.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual to join the teaching team at South Hill. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with autistic learners with additional needs in education.
The successful candidate would require a PGCE/Cert Ed, or equivalent level 5 teaching qualification.
The role includes:
Using creative and engaging strategies, including multi-sensory teaching methods, to enhance learning.
Working closely with learning support assistants to design and deliver outstanding sensory-based learning activities tailored to individual needs.
Ensuring that every student is making progress towards achieving their Education, Health and Care plan targets through accredited qualifications and RARPA programmes.
Producing consistently high-quality teaching paperwork and differentiating learning materials and activities to meet learners’ needs.
Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment to meet the complex physical, emotional, and sensory needs of students with PMLD.
Implementing thorough risk assessments that ensure all activities are carried out safely.
Collaborating with external professionals and contributing to student reviews.
Working with some learners who can present challenging behaviour
