British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. We, in turn, make this in to over 1 million tonnes of sugar, serving customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly growing commercially in the EU and world sugar markets. Salary Range £50,000.00 to £60,000.00 Job Purpose Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Manager, this role is responsible for building the supply plan to maximise customer satisfaction while minimising costs as well as robust management of the plan to ensure execution. The role works closely with Logistics, Customer Service, Customer Supply Teams, and Third-Party partners to ensure the seamless supply of sugar, both homegrown and imported. Core Accountabilities Own the planning and scheduling process for retail sugar packets, including production planning, scheduling, customer-specific requirements, performance management, and cost optimisation. Own the maintenance of core planning data points, including run rates, batch sizes and scheduling assumptions. Lead the sales and operations planning process for retail packets, including medium and long-term capacity plans, risk and opportunity assessments, performance plans, scenario modelling, and facilitation of related meetings (e.g. run rate and capacity reviews). Represent the planning function in all factory based operational processes. Ensure inbound requirements and deliveries of bulk materials, pallets and packaging are clearly communicated and managed, with all stakeholders aligned to deliver against the plan. Collaborate with the Customer Service team to address and resolve execution challenges impacting customer orders. Lead supply planning inputs for financial forecasting and budgeting processes. Maintain planning master data to the highest standard, demonstrating a relentless pursuit of accuracy and reliability. Provide cross-functional support, deputising for colleagues in other parts of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team as required. Achieving a product availability target of 99.5%. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Procurement, Finance, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams, fostering collaboration and shared accountability. Drive improvements in systems and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
