We’re proud of our heritage and we love our brand, we know you will too The Role As a Credit Control Specialist, you will be responsible for service level agreements and targets, taking control of most major customer accounts to ensure that debt is kept to a minimum and to report on overdue debt situation across the customer base via weekly reporting liaising with Sales Leadership Team, Commercial Finance and Finance Director. To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in credit control or a similar role. You must be a confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with other departments. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to ensure smooth collaboration and resolution of any issues that may arise. In this role, you will also act as a senior support for the team, providing guidance and assistance to your colleagues. You will deputise in the manager's absence, ensuring continuity and smooth operations within the credit control department. A knowledge of Excel is required, including the ability to create and manage simple spreadsheets. Experience with higher Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and formulas is desirable. Key Accountabilities and Measures Be responsible for the control and monitoring of nominated major customer accounts, who hold the most impact to business performance, due to volume/complexity. Take responsibility of Weekly Aged Debtors reporting, working with the Sales Leadership Team and the Cashflow focus group and Finance Leadership Team. Deputise for Credit Control Supervisor, with responsibility and accountability for credit control team during absence. monitor workload and deal with escalations. To be able to load and process all invoices into Blueplanner in an efficient and timely manner. Chasing up Finance BP disputes with Commercial and Commercial Finance Alongside Credit Control Supervisor secondary responsibility of: Prepare Monthly Centre Debtors report. Period end reporting. Twice weekly reporting to: Commercial Finance, identifying customer term issues and blockers. Essential Ingredients Knowledge of Credit Control techniques and various accounting processes, including Credit control skills with the ability to negotiate with all customers, both internal and external at senior levels. In depth skill level of various IT systems and a high level of Excel knowledge. Excellent communication skills and relationship builder- Able to build relationships across a broad range of non-finance and finance stakeholders. Articulating complex debt levels in a persuasive manner. Planning and organising: working under pressure to meet strict deadlines, simultaneously reporting timetables, to ensure SLAs and deadlines are met. Problem solving skills and continuous improvement: Ability to recognise a problem, dissect the situation to understand the cause and offer alternative solutions. Strong organisation skills to manage a demanding and varied workload of self and team. Good learning agility; able to pick up new learnings quickly, and be able to apply this practically within the workplace and support own CPD.
