Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and tech-savvy Tech Coordinator to lead our technology programs, including coding, robotics, and other tech-related activities. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience working with children, combined with a strong enthusiasm for technology and gaming. As the head of the tech department, you will create and deliver engaging, hands-on sessions across our after-school clubs, community programs, and holiday camps. You’ll also work closely with the senior leadership team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring that our programs spark creativity and foster an early love of innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate a range of tech-focused activities, including coding, robotics, and other technology-based projects for after-school clubs, holiday camps, and community programs.
* Develop interactive and age-appropriate lesson plans that ignite curiosity and encourage problem-solving through technology.
* Train and support other staff in delivering tech-based sessions, providing them with the tools and guidance needed to ensure quality delivery.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, children, and school staff to ensure the continued success and growth of the programs.
* Ensure all tech resources, including robotics kits, computers, and coding platforms, are well-maintained and used effectively.
* Stay up-to-date with new trends in technology, robotics, and coding, keeping our programs fresh and engaging.
* Actively promote Kidz Academy’s tech programs to schools and parents, helping to expand participation and visibility.
* Collaborate with the senior leadership team to track progress, report results, and meet KPIs.
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or extracurricular setting.
* Must hold a recognized qualification for working with children (e.g., childcare, teaching, youth work).
* Strong interest and passion for technology, gaming, and coding, with a desire to pass this enthusiasm on to young learners.
* Access to own transport and ability to travel, as this role is based at our Lisburn HQ.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain tech concepts in an engaging and accessible way for children.
* Creative and enthusiastic about fostering a love of technology and innovation in young people.
* Ability to work under pressure, maintain professionalism, and meet agreed targets.
Desired:
* Experience working with children aged 4-14 in coding, robotics, or other technology-focused programs.
* Knowledge of block-based coding languages and platforms suited for children, such as Scratch, Blockly, or LEGO Mindstorms, as well as basic concepts of robotics and problem-solving.

Salary: Ranging between £24,000 - £30,000, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
Due to the nature of the role within KidZ Academy, an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate through Access NI will be required prior to the commencement of employment. Information obtained through the Access NI certification process will be handled fairly, and the presence of a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from securing a position. A copy of the Access NI Approved Code of Practice is available upon request.
