Job Title: Fabric Maintenance Engineer Location: Dunstable, Luton Job Type: 9-Month Contract Salary: £23 per hour Reporting to: Facilities Manager / Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Fabric Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a 9-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on building fabric, ensuring the facilities remain in excellent condition and meet health and safety standards. Warehouse experience is desirable. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building fabric, including doors, floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and general structures. Conduct minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and other general maintenance tasks. Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing and fixing issues efficiently. Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and other minor installation works. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including reports on maintenance activities. Liaise with subcontractors and oversee their work when necessary. Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members to ensure a smooth operation of facilities. Identify and report any potential building issues or hazards.Requirements: Proven experience as a Fabric Maintenance Engineer, Handyman, or similar role in building maintenance. Strong skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, plastering, and general building repairs. Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to maintenance work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and customer service skills. Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) in carpentry, plumbing, or related fields (desirable). Warehouse experience is desirable.
