What you’ll be doing The purpose of the Analyst role in the investment & financing function is to engage in project modelling and valuation work, evaluating the potential for investment in renewable assets, throughout their lifecycle. The role will provide exposure to variety of different technologies – wind, solar & energy storage – in both the UK and Ireland markets. You will: • Engage in project valuation work - collating and challenging assumptions, modelling and delivering reliable financial outputs to support investment decisions, across multiple renewable technologies. • Prepare valuation analysis and insight and presentations to key stakeholders in the team and project development managers. • Contribute to the management and delivery of business-critical work streams, supporting senior analysts in the presentation of papers to senior management. • Maintain and develop key business models/tools, including the tracking and updating of market-related inputs. • Provide research and modelling support to assist with the monitoring of policy & regulatory changes, assess the potential impact to EDF Renewables UK and Ireland. • Support competitor analysis, including auction analysis and tracking of wider-industry developments. • Assist the M&A and Origination functions within the team. What do you need to be great at this role? Knowledge and experience in the energy sector is preferred, especially knowledge of the technical and commercial challenges. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the increasing automation and sophistication of our models, whilst communication of results will also be key, so we will look for excellent presentation skills and demonstrated stakeholder management experience. The role will provide the opportunity to become an expert in a rapidly growing field, and the mixture of analysis and communication will allow the successful candidate to build a well-rounded set of skills that will enable exciting career development opportunities. To be successful you will possess the following skills: • Understanding and ideally experience of financial modelling (discounted cashflow analysis) • Knowledge of energy markets • Stakeholder management • Written and spoken communication skills • Teamwork and leadership • Advanced Excel use • Experience in additional coding language (e.g. Python) Closing Date for applications: 12th of March 2025 Location: Working on a Hybrid basis from one of our offices, Edinburgh, Durham or London.
