Part-time Residential Support Worker
Note: This role involves part-time weekend work, up to 28 hours.
Our school support workers are dedicated to making small but meaningful positive changes in young people's lives, celebrating 'huge small victories' that contribute to their development. You will work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop, and boost their self-esteem. Resilience and dedication are essential, as well as the ability to be proud of the progress made.
Your daily responsibilities include ensuring our young people are prepared for school, assisting with homework, completing paperwork, and planning activities. You will be part of a team that includes psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals, all committed to supporting success in a well-resourced environment, with opportunities for career development.
Overseas applicants must hold an EU work permit. The position is based at Oversands School in Grange-over-Sands, which caters to pupils with complex learning needs and challenging behaviors.
We offer competitive salary and benefits, including full induction and on-the-job training, school holiday pay, flexible benefits, wellbeing support, medical cover, excellent facilities, a contributory pension scheme, and a referral bonus scheme.
We value diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds. To succeed, you should have a positive attitude, be willing to study for a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already qualified), and demonstrate honesty, empathy, relationship-building skills, resilience, and a full UK driving license.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people. This position requires an enhanced DBS check and online search. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
