What does a great Commercial Finance Analyst do?
The Commercial Finance Analyst works hand in glove with the commercial teams managing relationships with airlines and travel agencies. By supporting the Senior Finance Analyst, this individual will play a key role in delivering the strategy for the region by providing high quality and timely financial modelling and analysis to inform negotiations for new and renewal agreements. The role will influence and assist commercial decisions to drive incremental revenues and profits, provide detailed variance analysis, highlight opportunities for growth and formulate plans to mitigate risks.
Finance support for Account Managers, providing high quality financial support on Agency/Travel Partners commercial deals, gaining appropriate approvals, and ensuring compliance with Travelport financial operations processes.
Provide ‘One’ finance voice across the commercial teams in analyzing and supporting commercial deals across the Agency and Travel Partners organisations.
Ensure financial models and deals represent accurate information and reflect impact to Travelport’s financial position.
Provide training on how to construct deals to the commercial teams and provide Deal Builder training as required.
Ensure correct accounting for Key accounts through periodic reviews with Financial Operations teams.
Work with regional account owners to grow / improve profitability of agents, by driving revenue opportunities and cost of revenue reductions schemes. Responsible for signing off on commercial deals within agreed approval matrix.
Work with Corporate and Financial Operations functions on ensuring accounting policies are understood by the region and adhered to, working with the Account teams on any issues that may arise and highlight possible alternatives.
Supporting implementation and rollout of new deal processes and commercial pricing.
Preferably studying or Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA or equivalent).
Highly analytical with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills as well as experience of manipulating large data sets.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience of modelling business cases for complex deals and ability to communicate key financial drivers to the wider business.
