Prima Cheese is a multi-award-winning cheese processing company with a 28-year heritage. It is one of the biggest cheese suppliers of foodservice and food manufacturing within the UK and exports their product to over 55 countries worldwide.
As an Export Administration Apprentice at Prima Cheese, your role is to ensure a smooth and timely operation, from order taking with customers to ensuring finished goods are loaded on time. With a state-of-the-art factory, we are dedicated to quality and innovation and are recognised as cheese experts on a global scale.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail orientated individual to join our dynamic export team. The successful candidate will be responsible for raising orders and invoices, liaising with internal departments and freight forwarders whilst maintaining quality and accuracy when arranging and completing export documentation. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
Your duties will include:
* Liaising with internal departments to ensure a smooth and timely operation to ensure finished goods are ready on time to meet loading schedules
* Raising orders and invoices on internal database and SAGE200
* Working closely with freight forwarders to arrange shipping and haulage

* Overseeing the loading of overseas orders in all conditions
* Problem solving to ensure problem resolution for customers and delivering excellent customer service
* Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards
* Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
You will be fully trained on how to arrange all aspects related to export orders and on how to complete export documentation correctly with a view to developing into an integral part of the Export team.
The training you will be getting
* The candidate will complete and receive a Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship qualification based around and focused on Export Administration
* Internal training in line with departmental requirements. Health and Safety and Manual Handling and policy training
* The learning will be work based and on site for a 40-hour working week incorporating 6 hours a week being used to complete college work ready for the end point assessment
* Combination of Teams sessions and in person sessions at Prima Cheese with the trainer assessor
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
* After successfully completing the apprenticeship, the view is to become a full time Export Coordinator and be a fundamental part of a strong team. From there, there will be opportunities to progress within the department or wider company
* In the long term within the Export Department, there would possibly be the career path of progressing to supervisory and then manager levels
