Senior Category Manager (Produce & Dairy) – Specialist Procurement Business - Hybrid - £65K + Benefits
My client is a specialist procurement business with a fantastic reputation for the services they deliver for various businesses across multiple sectors.
They are currently looking for a Category Manager to join their team. The successful Category Manager will be responsible for all Fresh Produce and Dairy categories by implementing procurement strategies, managing the supply base, negotiating the best deals, and seeking opportunities to increase and improve the categories.

Responsibilities include:
* Manage the supply base and compliance.
* Sourcing new products and services as required, putting in place contractual terms which can be used by the sales team to extend the current business base.
* Liaise with actively managed suppliers, undertaking quarterly scorecards with key suppliers.
* Identify procurement opportunities to increase business effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
* Negotiate and manage competitive tendering processes with suppliers.
* Introduce cost mitigation strategies where appropriate to help manage product costs.
* Ensure that price lists are accurate and sent out in a timely manner, resolving queries as they arise.
The Ideal Senior Category Manager Candidate:
* Proven experience working in a procurement function within hospitality, with a focus on fresh produce & dairy categories.
* Exceptional negotiator and relationship builder with the ability to influence at all levels.
* CIPS qualification is desirable.
* Experienced in developing category strategy and strategic sourcing.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
