Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Team Leader to join the Schools Agency Services section within our wider Bus Strategy and Delivery department. SPT acts as an Agent for 11 Unitary Authorities in the West of Scotland, providing the management, maintenance and monitoring of mainstream Home to School transport provision for 36,000 children on a daily basis.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of service to both internal and external clients, whilst ensuring and developing a more efficient quality of compliance within the organisation. A key aspect of the role will be to provide guidance and assistance in relation to the relevant legislation which governs road transport services to other SPT departments. You will supervise the Compliance Team, overseeing the day-to-day workload including allocating tasks and resources and ensuring all relevant compliance measures are in place.
Full-time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.
Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT operates a temporary hybrid working pattern which allows 40% home working, i.e., 2 days per week Monday to Friday.
Please note, this position falls into the ‘low’ risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for-cause testing procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will be educated to higher level or equivalent including English and hold a transport-related qualification i.e., CILT or CPC. You will have experience of working in a public transport or retail environment with a focus on customer care. You will have an in-depth knowledge of customer service, bus regulation, and compliance.
