Finance Assistant Annual Salary: Competitive Location: Plymouth, Devon Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm My client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join the finance team of a large, successful retail business based at their Head Office in Plymouth. Reporting to the Overheads Manager and as part of the Overheads team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing several cost centres, ensuring that expenditure is recorded accurately and on a timely basis. Day-to-day of the role: Process expenditure invoices via our data capture system to ensure payment deadlines are met. Review sensitive nominal codes, identifying CAPEX, prepayments, and accruals. Analyse costs against budgets and report key variances to the Finance Manager team. Assist in budgeting and reforecasting as appropriate. Own a selection of cost centres & balance sheet codes. Post and evidence monthly accruals, prepayments, and other journals as required. Manage full Accounts payable for all Property invoices using our data capture approval system. Prepare quarterly/monthly rents payments. Conduct Fixed Asset review and transactional postings to include depreciation. Support budgeting and reforecasting processes. Play a key role in month-end and year-end deadlines. Perform ad-hoc tasks as and when required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Financial qualification (AAT or equivalent) preferred. Excellent communication and analytical skills. High level of accuracy and organisational skills. IT literate with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
