You will be supported by the experienced Endoscopy team to develop clinical skills with a full training package. With the new CDC Endoscopy Site opening in West Swindon you will be expected to rotate between the sites. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job To sustain a high-quality service within the Endoscopy multi-disciplinary team. To be knowledgeable about all Endoscopy procedures and be fully aware of medical treatments relevant to work area. To provide information, education, and psychological support to patients with benign and malignant disease. To run a procedure room and assist Endoscopists with procedures. Provide patient information on Endoscopy procedures enabling them to make informed consent. Understand JAG Accreditation, and work within its framework. Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals. To provide telephone assessments for patients prior to procedures. To assist with OGD, Colonoscopy and Flexible sigmoidoscopy procedures, including more complex procedures such as ERCP, Bronchoscopy and EBUS. To co-ordinate a busy Endoscopy unit and delegate tasks to staff accordingly. Manage staff, including appraisal, sickness management and incident reporting. Understand Roster system and staff allocation- maintain safe staffing levels. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to audits. Preparing equipment used during Endoscopy procedures. Preparing and administering intravenous medications. Ensuring compliance of medicine management trust policy. To complete documentation relevant to Endoscopy procedures.
