Description
We’re seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Advertising to lead the commercial strategy for a portfolio of trusted Scottish magazines.
You’ll oversee a team of four dedicated sales reps focused on our flagship title, The Scottish Farmer, and take a hands-on role managing advertising sales for Forestry Journal (monthly) and essentialARB (bi-monthly). The role covers print, online, and event sponsorships, focusing on delivering growth and innovation across channels.
Key Responsibilities
* To lead and support the sales team in achieving advertising revenue targets
* Manage and grow key client relationships
* Sell directly into specialist forestry titles
* Drive cross-platform ad campaigns (print, digital, sponsorships)
* Collaborate with editorial and marketing for campaign success
* Report on performance and spot new commercial opportunities
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Proven track record in media or magazine advertising sales
* Strong team leadership and mentoring ability
* Confidence in managing key accounts and winning new business
* Experience with both print and digital advertising
* Strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves
