An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Process Team within the Manufacturing Engineer – Turbines function, based in Bristol.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a key part of the Manufacturing Engineering plant team driving rate improvement to support high-volume production and become a part of a high-performing team with capability in single-crystal casting method development, tooling design, metrology, data analytics, metallurgy and more.
You will also use data and a structured approach to solve problems, find root causes and implement improvements to our manufacturing processes and methods, while working with Design Engineering to align product design specifications with manufacturing capability, and with our internal and external suppliers and customers to improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
1. HSE - Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.
2. Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes can achieve and sustain the design definition and responsible for mitigating against process deviation.
3. Quality - Operate a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Control and Intellectual Property requirements.
4. Cost - Identify and develop opportunities for scrap reduction and yield improvement across processes and parts.
5. Delivery - Plan and manage activities, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.

To be successful in this role you will need:
1. Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent).
2. General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business.
3. General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business.
4. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in technical problem-solving, along with a solid understanding of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies.
5. Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and present to diverse audiences.
6. A flexible attitude to work, and a keen interest in learning.
7. Strong team collaboration skills essential.
