What’s the role? You will work with the management team and your colleagues to deliver a comprehensive first-class accounting service to a portfolio of private equity and/or real estate structures. You will help to develop an internal Centre of Excellence (CoE) within the Southampton Gen II office, assist with the supervision, training and development of a team of accountants, and maintain and develop strong working relationships with clients. What you’ll be doing Support the management team to deliver a first-class professional service to clients, both internal and external Preparation and review of management account packs Preparation and review of financial statements for a wide range of client structures to UK GAAP, U.S. GAAP, Lux GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards Manage the client & investor reporting cycles for a portfolio of clients Manage the timely and accurate production of VAT returns Supervise and assist with managing the workflow of, and delegation of tasks to, junior team members Plan and prioritise your own and team workflow Assist with the ongoing review & development of procedures and controls Assist the management team with the appraisal process for direct reports, if applicable Support the management team with the client billing process Liaise with the clients’ auditors to ensure a seamless audit process Liaise with external contacts to obtain and provide required information, as necessary Attend client meetings in respect of accounting matters, as required Assist the management team in analysing clients’ key performance indicators Assist with, and contribute to, ad hoc projects, as required The ideal background for this role: Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA / ACA) A minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience in fund accounting is preferable Experience of preparing and reviewing management account packs, including consolidations Good knowledge of private equity and real estate fund structures and accounting treatment throughout the fund lifecycle Experience of preparing financial statements for a variety of fund types to UK GAAP, U.S. GAAP, Lux GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards Experience of preparing CIS, VAT and/or corporation tax returns is preferable Working knowledge of relevant software e.g. Caseware, FIS Investran, Yardi, Sage Intacct Good understanding of industry practices, regulations and legislation Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure Ability and desire to form strong working relationships with clients & colleagues Passionate about continuous improvement / learning and a desire to help with the development and coaching of junior colleagues Role Location/Hybrid Schedule This role will be based in the Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
