What you can add: Clinical Responsibilities: Liaison and collaborative working with colleagues within the TEDS teams, but also with medical, nursing and dietetic colleagues in the general hospital in Swindon. This will include ensuring implementation of TEDS care plans for children and young people whilst on the wards in the hospital and providing advice to hospital staff. Undertake a care co-ordinator role for children and young people open to the team and work collaboratively with young people, their families and wider care team in the context of their environment. Providing effective assessment, planning and review of care needs using the CPA process. Establishing, maintaining and ending purposeful, therapeutic relationships with children and young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties. Practice will be creative and underpinned by specialist knowledge of, and skills in, evidence based and psychosocial interventions. Using knowledge of psychological therapies, for example CBT, DBT and Solution Focused approaches. Providing time-limited intervention, identifying appropriate discharge goals and working positively with risk using own professional judgment and team processes. Assessing risk in collaboration with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, significant others and other workers/professionals, alongside use of own professional judgment and team processes. This involves exploring individuals risk of harm to themselves and/or others and may involve working with challenging, hostile and distressing behaviour. Identifying and agreeing Recovery Care Plans and risk management plans with individuals and other relevant people and share these appropriately. To pro-actively provide health education and advice to promote a reduction in risk taking behaviour among young people. Communicating highly complex information to a range of people and professionals with a wide range of levels of understanding. Identifying barriers to understanding and using creative methods to overcome them. Communicating highly complex information between mental health practitioners and other professionals in wider agencies. Providing and receiving highly complex and sensitive information in relation to Safeguarding and Child Protection work and taking appropriate action. This includes identifying and appropriately reporting concerns to Childrens Social Care while using communication skills in order to maintain a professional working relationship with parents and significant others in often hostile and highly emotive situations. Providing and receiving information from carers, significant others and members of the community. Using a systemic approach to working with individuals, their families and significant others. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with carers and significant others. Identifying and engaging with practitioners with specialist knowledge, for example by requesting specialist knowledge or clinical supervision sessions where appropriate. Working without direct supervision and being accountable for own actions. Skilled and constructive use of own supervision sessions, engagement in reflective practice, commitment to continuously develop self-awareness and work appropriately within professional boundaries. Management Responsibility: Supporting the Clinical Team Manager through contributing to clinical leadership within the Team Providing supervision to qualified and/or unqualified members of staff, through monthly supervision, as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager. To supervise the clinical and theoretical work of under and postgraduate trainees and other students where appropriate Providing learning and shadowing opportunities for junior and unqualified staff members. Contributing to the promotion of staff well-being and morale in the Team through developing and maintaining supportive relationships. Supporting the Clinical Team Manager to achieve team objective, targets and quality standards. Participating in development initiatives within the Team and the Trust as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager. The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above. What youll need: Qualifications: RMN/OT/Social Worker Current registration with relevant professional body Evidence of continuous professional development Training in supervision and appraisal Non-medical Prescriber Knowledge/ Experience : Experience in working with Children and young people with eating disorders, either as part of a dedicated eating disorder service, community CAMHS team or inpatient unit. Experience as a Band 5, or equivalent, Mental Health professional Understanding and experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs. Experience of and commitment to working in a multi-agency setting working in partnership with a range of health, social care and education professionals Relevant experience in a community setting Experience of care coordination Experience of working with families, carers and significant others Experience of providing supervision Ability to carry out assessments and psycho- social interventions Experience of liaising and working alongside colleagues in paediatric wards and tier 4 inpatient units. Knowledge and experience of a range motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and a psychological therapy (i.e. CBT/DBT/FBT/CBT-E) Experience of contributing to the management of a clinic Experience of Recovery focused practice Knowledge and experience of Child and Adult Protection work *Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
