Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times including the storage of records and the transfer of verbal and written information. Work within multidisciplinary care teams promoting good communication with the Trust and hospital staff, statutory and voluntary agencies. Ensure that patients and carers who face language barriers are helped to understand and make use of the service available. Take into account cultural belief and values of the patient. Identify any safeguarding issues patients may have and act on the information.
