Ultimately, helping to maximise the profitability of the business unit whilst ensuring the Ipsum values are upheld (Safety, Service & Specialist). Principle Accountabilities include: Manage contract/project performance including CVR reviews. Review contracts and support with mitigating risk. Report on and challenge performance for project cashflows and profitability. Subcontractor management. Preparation and review of subcontract documents and assessment of quotations for onboarding. Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices Assess and value variations and compensation events Support the Commercial Manager with adhoc projects and continuous improvement of business processes Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client Be actively involved with tenders and pricing Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects About you Essential qualifications/ skills/ experience Bachelors or masters degree or equivalent qualification. Demonstrable experience within a similar commercial or financial role Experience of operating in a commercial, multi-divisional organisation Up to date knowledge of contractual law and commercial practice Experience of working with Schedule of Rates contracts and other measurement techniques Knowledge of measured terms contracts (MTC) contracts and the property services agency (PSA) schedule of rates, preferably with experience of the MOD environment A commitment to drive outstanding Health, Safety and Environmental performance A commitment to delivering outstanding levels of service every day A constant desire to truly add value, improvement and innovation Demonstrable track record of commercial and financial contract management, to an appropriate level Can quickly identify changes and potential problems in contracts and performance Ability to challenge the business at all levels to ensure performance remains on target Able to advise colleagues on commercial processes Will pursue high standards, recognise improvement opportunities, and learn from experience Able to undertake logical and methodical interrogation of information, data, legal sources and trends, keep accurate records and an audit trails Must have a solid understanding and be confident in using Microsoft Packages, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel Desirable qualifications/ skills/ experience Previous experience of working within the Utilities industry Professional membership of a relevant body (e.g. ICM, RICS, ACCA) NEC experience Ipsum is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, transgender status, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
