Job Summary:
At VVB we are hiring a Delivery Manager to support our Highways Sector. Working as a Delivery Manager, you'll be delivering Mechanical, Electrical and Technology Projects. Supporting the Project Manager and Head of Sector to develop working teams to safely deliver these projects on time and on budget to the standards of safety and quality expected on Highways infrastructure projects. This role requires travel to and from our regional locations, including Saltash.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing leadership and project management in all facets of the project activities to deliver the project to meet cost, time, and quality requirements.
* Understanding the commercials of the project and applying them to ensure margins are achieved.
* Working with the Company Construction Leads to ensure that the site works team is correctly staffed with competent personnel.
* Responsible for the performance of the project from a delivery perspective.
* Ensuring that engineering activities associated with the delivery of the workstream are undertaken in a timely manner.
* Developing and managing effective communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
* Working with the client and reporting to the Project Manager to establish the strategy and delivery for the project.
* Undertaking specific project management tasks at the discretion of the Project Manager.
Further Supporting the Project Management team with the following:
* Driving productivity during the project life cycle.
* Leading team members and developing the client's strategy.
* Delivering strategy and leading the design management, procurement, and execution of the scheme.
* Supervising and supporting Site Teams to develop a high-performing team.
* Overseeing that the highest standards of health and safety are considered as a priority.
* Coordinating, planning, and managing internal and external meetings.
* Driving the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project.
* Providing input into client system safety and project risk assessment and management process.
Skills and Experience:
* Significant experience in managing clients, contractors, and coordinating stakeholders.
* Experience within the Highways electrical or Technology field.
* Ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Ability to carry out quality inspections and generate onsite solutions.
* Managing budgets and forecasting expenditure.
* Strong knowledge of key project processes.
* Excellent IT skills in MS Office suite.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Understanding of industry best practices.
* Previous working experience in a similar role.
* Experience working in a client-facing role for a PMC or as a client is essential.
